| Ok...best thing I would tell you then is to solvent soak/degrease as best you can. Then get a blast cabinet with 80 grit for cast iron units and 100-120 grit for all other parts. It will make your job in powder coating much easier and the powder will adhere MUCH better once cured in the oven. You can get 80-120 grit aluminum oxide (what I suggest, prefer, and personally use) at Fastenal and or Grainger. Be sure the cabinet has a good reclaimer attached and you have it properly ventilated. Oxide dust is combustable when concentrated and will cause cancer if heavily breathed in. My blast room in my shop (dedicated room) has a vent exhaust fan in the wall that I run while I'm in there blasting. Makes a huge difference in air quality and visibility. Good luck
